Cambridge is an impressive place to take a short break offering visitors to the city a wide choice of things, there really is something to suit every everybody.

Art plays a big part in the life of Cambridge and there is a great choice of galleries and theaters offering everything from the modern to to the traditional. Cambridge also has a great festival scene, visitors come from around the world to attend the Cambridge Folk Festival and families love the Big weekend and the Secret Garden Party Festival.

Cambridge has some excellent museums including the Fitzwilliam Museum which is home to some of the finest collections of antiquities in England. Families with children must pay a visit to the Sedwick Museum of Earth Sciences which tells the story of the Earths 500 year history, there are plenty of dinosaur  activities for kids to enjoy.

Summer is a great time to visit Cambridge as there is always so much going on, the city has a great programme of summer events and it seems like every public open space is occupied by somebody giving an al fresco performance.

Visitors to Cambridge often want to go for a punt on the River Cam. A punt is a flat-bottomed boat which is steered by a long pole. Most people choose to enjoy a Chauffeur Punt but it if you are feeling brave you can hire a punt for yourselves.

The Choir of Kings College with its Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols has become an iconic part of a traditional Christmas, if you are fortunate enough to be visiting Cambridge at Christmas you really must take the opportunity to see for yourself a wonderful spectacle which is enjoyed by millions worldwide.
